Building Blocks for Biosimilar Integration in Cancer Care

About this Initiative

This initiative provides physicians, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants with educational activities to improve clinicians’ confidence in using biosimilars in patients with cancer, as well as educating patients so that they will be able to participate in informed and shared decision-making.

Topics covered are the regulatory framework and approval pathway for biosimilars and the application of clinical trial data to biosimilar approval, the safety and efficacy of currently approved oncology biosimilars compared with reference products, and approaches for communicating relevant information about oncology biosimilars to patients before initiation or when switching therapy.
