Erika Thomas, M.B.A., R.Ph.

Scientific Project Manager

 

ERIKA L. THOMAS is a Scientific Project Manager with ASHP ADVANTAGE.  Erika has extensive experience in planning educational programs, pharmacy practice, and association management.

 

As a Scientific Project Manager, Erika is responsible for developing and implementing live and web-based educational programs and related projects.  She works closely with speakers and assures that all programs meet ACCME and ACPE guidelines for quality.  Erika has worked on projects which have offered continuing education credit for pharmacists, physicians, nurses, case managers, and respiratory therapists.    

 

Previously, Erika served as Director of Educational Programming for ASHP.  In this capacity, she was responsible for all aspects of educational programming at ASHP national meetings, including the Midyear Clinical Meeting and Summer Meeting, Home Care Meeting and smaller conferences such as the National Residency Preceptors Conference and the Leadership Conference. 

Erika received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan and her Master of Business Administration from the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston, Texas.

 

She completed an ASHP-accredited general hospital pharmacy residency at Harper Grace Hospitals in Detroit, Michigan.  Erika has pharmacy practice experience in community and large, teaching hospitals and served as a preceptor for pharmacy residents and students.  Erika has held a variety of positions, including management and staff positions, in a number of specialty areas including:  inpatient and ambulatory operating rooms, intensive care units, cardiology, OB-GYN, oncology, renal, neurology and ophthalmology.
