Kristi Hofer, Pharm.D.

Scientific Project Manager

 

KRISTI HOFER, Scientific Project Manager with ASHP Advantage, is responsible for developing and implementing educational programs and related projects.  She works closely with speakers and ensures that all programs meet ACCME and ACPE guidelines for quality.

 

Most recently, Kristi practiced as a drug information specialist at the University of Virginia Health System. In this capacity, she was responsible for formulary management, pharmacy and therapeutics committee support, newsletter preparation, and drug information call center supervision. She also served as co-director of the ASHP-accredited drug information practice residency, preceptor for pharmacy practice residents and students, and instructor for nursing students. Kristi brings attention to detail and organizational skills, refined in her drug information practice, to ASHP Advantage projects.

 

Kristi received her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from South Dakota State University and completed ASHP-accredited residencies in pharmacy practice and drug information. She has diverse pharmacy experience, including training in association management, pharmaceutical industry, and medical communications. Her pharmacy practice experience includes inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services in a university hospital, neurology clinical pharmacy services, JCAHO survey preparation, medication error reduction initiative coordination, and staff education. Kristi is an active member of ASHP and the Virginia Society of Health-System Pharmacists (VSHP) and has served in regional and state officer positions, including the VSHP Board of Directors.
