Carla Brink, M.S., R.Ph.
Project Manager
CARLA BRINK is a medical writer and editor. She has worked with ASHP ADVANTAGE since 1998, primarily editing journal supplements based on educational symposia and writing newsletter articles. Her eye for detail and attention to authors’ and publishers’ needs help ensure completion of even the most challenging projects. Beginning with the 2002 Midyear Clinical Meeting, Carla also assumed the role of Project Manager for ASHP ADVANTAGE, and she applies those same skills when planning and coordinating educational programs. She has planned live symposia for a variety of audiences. She also has experience coordinating the recording of web-based and podcast programs in a studio. Carla enjoys working with faculty and sponsors to develop high quality programs that meet ACPE and ACCME standards.
Carla honed her writing and editing skills as a member of the ASHP editorial staff in the early to mid 1980s. As Associate Editor for the American Journal of Hospital Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy, she was responsible for reviewing manuscripts submitted for publication, soliciting manuscripts, copy editing, and writing investigative news reports. She also coordinated the writing and production of the ASHP Newsletter.
Carla received her Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy, as well as a Master of Science degree in Social and Behavioral Pharmacy, from the University of Wisconsin—Madison. Her pharmacy practice experience has primarily been in community settings. As a freelance medical writer, she has written news reports and newsletters for national, state, and local organizations, specializing in health-care topics. |
