CATHY BOWLES has over 20 years experience in pharmacy practice,
including several years of experience in association management
and educational meeting planning for pharmacists.
As ASHP Advantage Project Manager since 1999, she oversees
the development and implementation of projects including educational
programs, advisory panel meetings, and other related projects.
Cathy has coordinated and managed educational symposia for
pharmacists and physicians attending regional programs as
well as national meetings. She has also participated in the
development of related publications and programs such as web-based
continuing education programs and journal manuscripts.
Cathy previously served as a pharmacist with a regional home
infusion provider and a community hospital. She is a charter
member of the ASHP Section of Home Care Practitioners. She
has been a member of ASHP since 1979 and has served the Mississippi
Society of Health-System Pharmacists as President, Program
Chair, and served as a member of the MSHP Board of Directors
from 1988 – 1998.
Cathy received her Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy
from the University of Mississippi. Her pharmacy practice
experience includes serving as pharmacy supervisor in a community
hospital, with responsibilities in JCAHO Survey preparation,
drug information services, technician training, and medical
library services. Her experience with a regional home infusion
therapy provider includes management of sterile compounding,
nutritional assessments, quality improvement activities, JCAHO
accreditation, and professional development.
