Objectives
At
the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

Describe the epidemiology of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in hospitalized
and at-risk patients.

Identify risk factors and characteristics of patients who are
at risk for developing VTE.

and contrast the available agents that can be used for prophylaxis
and treatment of VTE.

Discuss methods for adopting, implementing, and monitoring applicable
VTE prevention and treatment guidelines.

Explain how guidelines can be used to improve patient care while
controlling long-term costs.

Explain VTE treatment strategies that can facilitate the bridging
