Andrew J. Donnelly, Pharm.D., M.B.A., FASHP, is Director of Pharmacy Services at the University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago and Clinical Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy. Dr. Donnelly's areas of interest include pharmacy administration, anesthesiology, and operating room pharmacy. He has spoken and published extensively in these areas.
Dr. Donnelly is Secretary of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, and he serves on many other University of Illinois Medical Center committees, including the IV Pump/PCA Pump Steering Committee, The Joint Commission Steering Committee, and the Medication System Review Committee.
Dr. Donnelly serves on the University HealthSystem Consortium Pharmacy Executive Council. He also is on the Current Concepts in Pharmacy Management Editorial Board and is a reviewer for the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, The Annals of Pharmacotherapy, Hospital Pharmacy, and Anesthesia Today.
Dr. Donnelly earned his Doctor of Pharmacy and Masters of Business Administration degrees from the University of Illinois. He is an active member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), and he was recognized as a fellow of ASHP in 1994. Dr. Donnelly is also a member of the American Pharmacists Association and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. On a state level, Dr. Donnelly is an active member of the Illinois Council of Health-System Pharmacists (ICHP). His elected ICHP offices include President, as well as the Director of the Division of Educational Affairs. Dr. Donnelly was honored by ICHP in 2002 as the Health-System Pharmacist of the Year.

Karen E. Bertch, Pharm.D., FCCP, is Director of Formulary Development for Premier, Inc. She directs the activities of Premier's Rational Choice Rx® Program, for which she oversees the Medication Management Subcommittee, development of medication class reviews and clinical tools, subject matter expert process, and maintenance of program-related Web content for Rational Choice Rx® and Supply Chain Advisor. Dr. Bertch also serves as a liaison to the Product Planning Group and Pharmacy Contracting Group at Premier. In that capacity, she is involved in the upfront clinical analysis of products prior to the contracting stage as a part of Premier's strategic sourcing process.
Dr. Bertch also has experience in acute care hospital and home infusion pharmacy services. She served as a clinical pharmacotherapist in the areas of general surgery, medical and surgical intensive care, and nutrition support services at the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital and one of its affiliates, Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center. She also practiced as a clinical pharmacy specialist in the Pharmacy Benefits Management Strategic Healthcare Group at the Department of Veteran's Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. Dr. Bertch was Manager/Director of Pharmacy Services at Home Medical Support Services, a national home infusion services provider. After Home Medical Support Services was acquired by Coram Healthcare, Dr. Bertch served as a pharmacy clinical and operations supervisor and supervisor of long-term care infusion services. Dr. Bertch concurrently served as an appointed clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy, and was later promoted to clinical associate professor.
Dr. Bertch is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, and the National Home Infusion Association. She has been elected to numerous national and state leadership positions. Dr. Bertch was awarded fellowship status in ACCP in 2002.
Dr. Bertch has published more than 50 abstracts, articles, and book chapters in the pharmacy and medical literature. Dr. Bertch's presentations have included discussion of intravenous infusion devices and products, total parenteral nutrition, USP chapter <797> and sterile product preparation, and drug utilization toolkit development and formulary management.
Dr. Bertch earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree with highest distinction from the University of Nebraska. She later completed a two-year ASHP-accredited general hospital pharmacy residency program at the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Tricia A. Meyer, M.S., Pharm.D., FASHP, is Director of Pharmacy at Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. Dr. Meyer is also Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology for the Department of Anesthesiology at the Texas A&M University College of Medicine at the Temple campus and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the Texas A&M Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy.
Dr. Meyer has published and presented extensively on the topics relating to peri-operative pharmacy, anesthesia, and pain management. She is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and was recognized as a fellow of ASHP in 2001. She is also a member of the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the International Anesthesia Research Society, and the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation.
Dr. Meyer earned her Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy with honors at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, her Master of Science degree from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. She has also completed the Duke Executive Management Program through Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
