Edmund A. Tori, D.O., is Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Step-Down Unit at Union Memorial Hospital (UMH) in Baltimore, Maryland, where he is responsible for running perioperative cardiac services. In addition, Dr. Tori is Director of Presence at the MedStar Institute for Innovation (MI2), where his responsibilities include serving as the chief architect of MI2’s web presence and leveraging it to catalyze innovation throughout the MedStar Health System. He is currently piloting the development of “MI2 Sense,” a MedStar-wide social collaboration environment.

Dr. Tori completed his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine followed by a residency in internal medicine at UMH where he was both Chief Resident and Resident of the Year. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in African Studies from Cornell University

Scott J. Knoer, Pharm.D., M.S.

Scott J. Knoer, M.S., Pharm.D., is Chief Pharmacy Officer at the Cleveland Clinic. He is responsible for all pharmacy services at the 1,300 bed tertiary care referral hospital, clinics, and cancer center, 17 family health centers, four ambulatory surgery centers, and eight community hospitals within the Cleveland area. He is also responsible for the Cleveland Clinic Florida hospital and clinics and the Cleveland Clinic sites in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Knoer previously served as Director of Pharmacy at the University of Minnesota Medical Center.

Dr. Knoer received his Bachelor of Arts in psychology degree from Creighton University and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Nebraska. He completed a two year administrative residency and received a Master of Science in hospital pharmacy degree from the University of Kansas.

Dr. Knoer is the Immediate-Past Chair of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Pharmacy Practice Managers Section. He has served in the ASHP House of Delegates, as Chair of the Section Advisory Group on Leadership Development, and as a member of ASHP's Commission on Affiliate Relations. He serves on the Executive Committee of the University Health-System Consortium (UHC) Pharmacy Council. Dr. Knoer has also served in a variety of local and state affiliate roles in Minnesota and Texas.

Dr. Knoer has published articles on a broad variety of topics including the pharmacy practice model, leadership development, pharmacy management, process improvement, and benchmarking. Dr. Knoer is the co-creator of the ASHP Managers' Boot Camp.

Michael Nnadi, Pharm.D., M.H.S.

Michael Nnadi, Pharm.D., M.H.S., is Vice President of Pharmacy Services and Chief Pharmacy Officer at Novant Health. He is responsible for 13 hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers and clinics which make up the Novant Health system, a budget over $200M, and approximately 500 pharmacy Novant employees.  At Novant Health, he has implemented service excellence initiatives and made improvements across multiple functions of pharmacy services. He has consolidated all Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committees into one system-wide committee.  Additionally, he implemented pharmacy automation, including bedside bar-coding technology, medstations, anesthesia system, repackaging equipment, and others.  He was instrumental in expanding the clinical pharmacy program at Novant, and he is currently working on a plan to implement pharmacy practice model changes. He led the effort to start an associate degree pharmacy technology program in North Carolina designed to help technicians prepare to assume responsibilities for technology-managed medication distribution processes. He has worked with other pharmacy leaders to obtain North Carolina Board of Pharmacy approval for tech-check-tech and recognition of certified technicians in North Carolina.

Dr. Nnadi received his Bachelor of Science in pharmacy degree from Howard University School of Pharmacy in Washington, D.C.; Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in Baltimore, Maryland; and Masters of Health Finance and Management degree from The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore. He completed a hospital administration residency at Memorial Hospital in York, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Nnadi has been a member of the Manager Development Committee and programming committee for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. He is an assistant professor at Campbell, Wingate, and Hampton Universities where he serves on several advisory committees.

John Pastor, III, Pharm.D.

John Pastor, Pharm.D. is Director of Pharmacy for the University of Minnesota Medical Center and the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In this position, Dr. Pastor has overall responsibility for the planning, implementation, and management of comprehensive pharmaceutical services at a multi-campus, 880-bed academic medical center.

Dr. Pastor received his undergraduate and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Minnesota, and completed an ASHP-accredited residency in pharmacy practice at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinic. His interests include leading patient-care process improvement projects, developing innovative roles for pharmacy staff, and improving the medication administration systems. Dr. Pastor also serves as the Residency Program Director for the combined Master of Science degree/PGY1/2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration and is on the faculty at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy and Graduate School.

Dr. Pastor has held both elected and appointed positions at the local, state, and national levels. He is a past-chair of the Educational Steering Committee for the Section of Pharmacy Practice Mangers and has represented Minnesota in the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists House of Delegates for a number of years. He is a past-president of the Minnesota Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and is also involved with the University Health-System Consortium Pharmacy Council serving on the Strategic Initiatives and Programming Committee.

Kevin Colgan, M.A., B.S.Pharm., FASHP

Kevin Colgan, M.A., B.S.Pharm., FASHP, is Corporate Director of Pharmacy at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He has more than 20 years of experience in clinical research and pharmacy practice management in hospital, home care, and retail settings.

Mr. Colgan earned a Masters of Arts degree in health services administration from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from St. Louis College of Pharmacy. He is currently a preceptor at Midwestern University College of Pharmacy.

Mr. Colgan is Past President of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). In 2007, he was named a fellow of ASHP. In addition, he received the St. Louis College of Pharmacy Outstanding Achievement Award in 2004, the Hospital Pharmacist of the Year Award from the Illinois Council of Hospital Pharmacists in 1993, and the Presidential Award for Management Excellence in 1987 from Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. Mr. Colgan is one of the founding members of the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board and a member of the Board of Directors of St. Louis College of Pharmacy.

Kathleen S. Pawlicki, M.S., B.S.Pharm., FASHP

Kathleen S. Pawlicki, M.S., B.S.Pharm., FASHP, is Administrative Director of Professional Services and Director of Pharmaceutical Services at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Over the past 20 years, she has held several administrative roles at small, medium, and large hospitals. Ms. Pawlicki is also a clinical instructor for the College of Pharmacy at the University of Michigan and an adjunct assistant professor for the College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions at Wayne State University.

She has served in various capacities in regional and state health-system pharmacy associations, including president of both the Southeast Michigan Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the Michigan Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP). For over seven years, Ms. Pawlicki has served as delegate to the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) House of Delegates for the State of Michigan. In 2004 she received the MSHP Pharmacist of the Year Award. Ms. Pawlicki is an active member of ASHP and served on the ASHP Council for Administrative Affairs and as Director-at-Large and Chair of the Executive Committee of the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Practice Mangers.

Ms. Pawlicki received her Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, and her Master of Science in pharmacy from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and she completed an ASHP accredited residency in hospital pharmacy.

Ms. Pawlicki was recognized as a Fellow of ASHP in 2001.
