Description
There are many ongoing changes that affect pharmacists and numerous factors that contribute to the challenges of managing a pharmacy career. Because career management is beyond the scope of most pharmacy schools’ curricula, pharmacy residents receive little if any formal training in this area. For this reason, a comprehensive half-day educational conference on career management has been designed specifically for pharmacy residents attending the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting.
Pharmacy residency programs prepare the future leaders of the profession for advanced clinical roles or management positions that ultimately improve patient outcomes. For many residents the completion of a residency leads to their first job experience practicing pharmacy without close mentoring. This conference provides skills and knowledge to pharmacists completing advanced training to face the pressures of balancing patient care with personal life issues.
Nationally-recognized speakers will discuss topics pertinent for pharmacy residents including being a leader in the profession, interview tips, negotiation skills, stress management, and integrating new technology into pharmacists’ practices.
