Because pharmacy residents receive little if any formal training in career management, ASHP has put together a conference with nationally recognized speakers to provide residents with practical strategies for a successful career including:

• Leadership skills - incorporating teamwork, collaboration and collegiality in your practice
• Interviewing and negotiating offers - pearls of wisdom
• Communication skills - improving your relationships through better communications
• Financial planning - learn the basics of investing and how to work with a financial professional
• Stress management - strategies for achieving balance in your professional and personal life
  

This program has been offered to pharmacy residents since 1996 and has been well received by past participants who have found the information invaluable to their career. Comments from previous residents who have completed the program include “I wish there had been a program like this while I was in my last year of school….this seminar would be useful for all pharmacists….the program renewed my motivation in my residency.”

Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast. Meet and network with other residents from around the country during a networking lunch. This program is being offered at no charge to residents and is approved for 4.5 hours of continuing education credit and is supported by an educational grant from Amgen.
