Jerry
Siegel is the Senior Director for Pharmaceutical Services
for the Ohio State University (OSU) Medical Center. He has
been a pharmacist with the Medical Center for over 25 years.
He is also Assistant Dean of Medical Center Affairs and Clinical
Associate Professor at The Ohio State University College of
Pharmacy.
Dr.
Siegel received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy
degrees from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy.
Previously a clinical microbiologist, he worked as a clinical
pharmacist in transplantation and hematology/oncology before
focusing on administration. He has lectured extensively on
immunology, infectious diseases, and pharmacoeconomics. In
1995 he received the designation of Fellow of the American
Society of Health-System Pharmacists for his expertise in
the field of immunotherapy. He has had over 100 invited presentations
in this field and published and produced videotapes in the
field of immunology. He has done extensive work with the use
of intravenous immune globulins and recently developed both
conservation guidelines and drug use evaluation guidelines
for the OSU Medical Center.
Dr.
Siegel also serves as Director of the ASHP-accredited residency
programs at OSU Medical Center. He is a past president of
the Ohio Society of Health-System Pharmacists and past chairman
of the ASHP Pharmacy Practice Management Advisory Group.
